New Features of Version 25.1

SEMA CAD

  • It is now possible to split stair components directly in the 3D view without having to switch to the 2D view. To do this, users simply mark the desired stair component in 3D and select the "Split" command. This handy function is available for handrails, rails, cut strings, strings and fillings. The options "At Length" and "Connect" are available when splitting. If "At length" is selected, the component reference can first be determined - the options available are TL, BL and "Centre". Next, the type of split is determined: "Splitting length in top view", "Maximum length in top view" or "Number of parts". Finally, the split angle can be selected. The options available here are "Vertical", "Horizontal", "Right-angled" or "Angle". An individual angle can also be entered by using the "Angle" option.

  • It is now possible to assign a tenon connection to a stair filling. This connection automatically creates the corresponding processing on the counter components such as strings, handrails and posts. The tenon can be specified in the master data of the filling, under end type. Users should also make sure that all values are to be set to zero in the "General data" of the filling in the "Spacing/Rounding" area.

  • A new update of the master data folder “X-fix Connector 2-01” has been made available in the SEMA data store under the “Fasteners” tab. This folder contains the new, enhanced version with improved static properties and optical and fire protection benefits of the X-fix wood connectors C 96/130/45 R15, C 96/130/65 R15, C 96/130/90 R15 and C 96/130/130 R15 (http://www.x-fix.at). The X-fix C connector is used in solid wood construction for the assembly of solid wood ceilings and wall panels. The advantage over conventional screw connections with butt boards is that the patented X-fix C geometry clamps the panels together and couples them positively and permanently just by knocking in the X-fix C parts. The time-consuming and often difficult assembly, for example, of the CLT ceiling panels by means of panel-joist tension is no longer required! A static calculation for X-fix C is possible with the intelligent dimensioning software for structural engineers with the module T11, according to ETA-18/0254 from the company Ingtools (https://www.ing-tools.de/module).

  • In the case of fastening contours, the option to output the fastening type (nail, clamp, screw) from the contour has been added to the Wallmaster export (WAM-BVX2 export). Consequently, the new option "automatic" in the general settings for nailing is now available.

  • The options "Only intersect components from the own storey" and "In the current storey, also intersect components from all other storeys" have been integrated for the horizontal section in the display settings (F7), under Pictures + 3D, General. Only the intersection parameters/depth of intersection of the respective storey are calculated for the display by means of the option "Only intersect components from the own storey". This reduces the calculation times for the storey representations and allows the representation to be designed in a more individual way. Components that were created across storeys are displayed in the active storey by means of the option "In the current storey, also intersect components from all other storeys".

  • The quality of machine exports has been enhanced by implementing automatic tests. This function makes it possible to detect errors early through adjustments and increase the reliability of the software.

  • The export of the BTLx format 2.3 has been incorporated into the SEMA program. BTLx is a modern, XML-based further development of the BTL format, with particular focus on simplification. In addition, the integration of future developments has been made possible in BTLx. For further information see: www.design2machine.com

  • The grain direction of stair strings can now be adjusted manually. So far, this has been only possible automatically, which did not always produce optimal results. The new setting can be found in the master data of the string under "Design" - it can be chosen between "Automatic", "Horizontal/Vertical" and "Rise".
