New Features of Version 25.4

SEMA CAD

  • In stair construction, it is now possible to display fasteners and pins for risers and treads directly in the top view. The corresponding setting can be found in the F7 settings for the riser and tread. A new item, "Connections", has been added under the "Display" tab. If this is activated, connectors and pins are automatically displayed in the top view.
  • The flexible properties extend the BIM package in SEMA to include complete management of property sets. The functions are located in the master data under Master Folder and include Manage, Assign, Update, Import and Remove. New property groups are created via Manage. These groups contain the individual properties, which can be defined as text, number, area or selection list. Within a group, the structure can be freely arranged and adjusted at any time. In addition, any number of properties and subcategories can be added. Properties or entire property groups are linked to master data under Assign. This provides components with the desired information directly in their database. The Update function compares different versions of a property group. This ensures that all master data contains the intended status. Property groups can also be imported. Either via a separately stored file or via an XML code that is transferred directly to the master data. Properties or entire groups can be deleted from the master data again using Remove. All functions can also be added to the toolbar for quicker access to the flexible properties. The stored properties and thus all property sets are then displayed in the data field of the respective component in the Ifc tab.
  • It is now possible to set the properties of a position frame so that this frame shows the 3D view. New settings have been added to the position frame properties for this purpose. Additional options are now available in the drop-down menu under Drawing. The standard 3D oblique view, 3D views from all directions (north, south, east, west and top) and a special 3D view for walls. If, for example, a wall is first assigned to a position frame and then the property is adjusted, the position frame immediately displays the 3D view. If the property is changed first and then a wall is assigned, the 3D view will only appear after the plan has been saved and reloaded. Another adjustment concerns the sheet settings. Under "Position Frame Automatic", there is now a new setting called "One Drawing per Plan". This setting is activated for automatic output. This creates a separate plan for each component, and all position frames on this plan display this component.
  • Issues generated with defined viewpoints of oblique 3D views in the SEMA programme can now be selected by double-clicking on the 3D preview image and automatically zoomed to this position in 3D.
  • When exporting BTL, BTLx and BVX files, it is now possible to specify preferred manufacturing sides for sheet, pocket and slot machining. This new setting can be selected in the single bar via a pull-down menu when machining is selected ( ). For easier orientation, the selected manufacturing sides of the component are highlighted in colour in the 3D visualised display when defining the manufacturing side and are displayed with the reference side numbers. Manufacturing sides that are not possible are displayed as "inactive" and cannot be selected. With the "automatic" setting, the machining operations are exported as before. In combination with the defined "General machine settings", specific manufacturing steps for special machining operations on the manufacturing machine can thus be optimised in advance.
  • In the top view and in the sections, individual points from point clouds can now be captured for all generation and machining commands.
  • It is now possible to open or close all CAD and 3CAD groups at once. The editing commands "Block - Open all groups" and "Block - Close all groups" have been integrated for this purpose. This means that all groups and their subgroups can be opened or closed completely with a single command.
  • A search function has been integrated into the top command line in master data management. This can be used to search for component names in the currently active master data folder. Once a name has been entered and a matching entry found, you can switch directly to the corresponding component with a click. Both the name and the path of the component are displayed in the search field. In addition, the search function has also been integrated into the Create command for all components. Unlike in master data management, all active master data folders are searched and the results are clearly listed.
  • With the latest SEMA version, the 3D engine has been completely redesigned and technologically updated. The result is an increase in performance, stability and display quality when working on large projects. The extended GPU support also reduces the load on the CPU and speeds up 3D calculations.
