New Features of Version 26.2
SEMA CAD
For wall timbers, ceiling timbers, purlins, tie
purlins, rafters and struts, the familiar multiple copy
functions from the CAD section are now available in both
2D and 3D views. When copying multiple times, you can
choose from the options "between", "in the direction of"
and "in the direction of up to", with a definable number
of copies to select.
The "between" option allows for an even distribution
between two points. The "in direction" option allows
copying along a specified direction at a constant
distance. With "in direction to", components can be
duplicated along a direction up to a defined end point.
This version introduces a new option for tool
assignment for MCAD contours when exporting to Cambium
via BVX. Using the user attribute "SEMA_BVX_TOOL" in the
MCAD master data, a tool stored in Cambium is
automatically assigned to a machining operation, for
example depending on the defined material type. In the
machine export settings, the "Automatic Machining"
option must be enabled in the "Contour" section. Only
then will the machining type specified in MCAD (P04),
such as sawing or milling, be correctly adopted and
executed. This significantly reduces the manual effort
required in Cambium. At the same time, process
reliability is enhanced, as sources of error arising
from manual intervention are minimised.
IFC export for layers of wall and roof structures is
now available. This allows multi-layered components to
be transferred to other systems in detail and in
accordance with standards. This improves data quality
and facilitates exchange within the BIM process. To
ensure that the layers are included in the IFC export,
the corresponding option must be enabled in the IFC
export settings.
New roof window models are now available for
selection in master data management. These can be
generated and used directly within a SEMA project. The
new roof window models can be positioned and analysed
using all the input options available in SEMA for roof
windows.
The optimised single-bar representation of the
various machining operations in the material list,
complete with dimension lines, has significantly
simplified the checking and adjustment of components. In
this version, the single-bar representation has been
optimised for the machining operations end flanges,
slots and SW flanges.
With the latest release, the functionality of the
SEMA software has been expanded so that, in future, the
X-coordinate for Weinmann can be determined and defined
directly within the application. This makes the transfer
of position data to Weinmann machines more precise and
flexible. With the new function, users can now specify
the X-coordinate precisely, allowing component positions
to be defined more clearly and optimising data transfer
to production. In the element view, the X-coordinate can
be accessed and set via the "Miscellaneous" editing
command. Subsequently, all components contained within
the element are automatically adjusted for export to the
machine.
In the new version, the loading manager in the SEMA
programme has been specifically enhanced to enable more
precise and practical control of the loading process.
Previously, the weight of the loaded components could
only be determined for the entire load. With the new
functionality, both the zone name and the zone weight
can now be directly determined and reused via
placeholders. This enables zone-specific evaluation and
control of the loading for the first time. A significant
advantage arises particularly in loading areas with
multiple zones (e.g. two separate areas). The weight can
be specifically monitored and evenly distributed to
ensure optimal loading. In addition, the user interface
has been enhanced. The zone weight can now be optionally
displayed in the display settings (F7). This provides
users with a clear overview of the weight distribution
within the load at all times.
With the new version, 3CAD objects can now be
duplicated multiple times. When creating multiple
copies, the desired spacing between the individual
objects is first defined. Next, the distribution of the
copies is specified. The options "between", "in the
direction of" and "in the direction to" are available
for this purpose. Whilst "between" enables an even
distribution between two points, "in the direction of"
allows copying along a defined direction at a constant
distance. With "Direction to", objects can be duplicated
along a direction up to a specific limit. Finally, the
desired number of copies is specified. This extension
allows recurring elements to be placed much more quickly
and precisely, making modelling more efficient and
user-friendly overall.
By cutting and intersecting roof surfaces in the 3D
view, partial roofs and roof surfaces can now be
connected quickly and clearly. When selecting roof
surfaces, a complete partial roof can also be selected
by right-clicking. This makes it possible, for example,
to intersect a subsequently created cross-section,
including all roof layers, directly with the main roof
surface. A preview is displayed for each of the various
intersection options, which facilitates input.
The flexible properties expand the BIM
package in SEMA with complete management of Property
Sets. The functions are located in the master data
under the Stamm folder and comprise Manage, Assign,
Update, Import and Remove. Manage is used to create new
property groups. These groups contain the individual
properties, which can be defined as text, number, area
or selection list. Within a group, the structure can be
arranged freely and adjusted at any time. In addition,
any number of properties and subcategories can be
added. Assign links properties or entire property
groups to a master data record. Components thereby
receive the desired information directly in their
database. The Update function compares different
versions of a property group, ensuring that all master
data contains the intended status. Property groups can
also be imported, either via a separately saved file or
via an XML code that is transferred directly into the
master data. Remove allows properties or entire groups
to be deleted from the master data again. All functions
can additionally be placed in the toolbar in order to
call up the flexible properties more quickly. The
stored properties, and thus all Property Sets, are then
displayed in the data field of the respective component
in the Ifc tab.
In addition to VB, SEMA now also supports Python.
All the familiar script functions – marking, searching,
checking and more – are thus also available in this
more modern and easier-to-learn language. At the same
time, Python forms the basis for unlocking more and
more functions via the script interface in future.
Three extensions make a start: a Python script can be
used to label components in the ML tab automatically
and uniformly. During IFC export, a stored script can
start automatically before the export – allowing, for
example, a specific component type to be searched for
and only this type to be exported. And the material
lists can now be controlled as well: the list content
can, for example, be converted into a different unit of
measurement and output in the desired file format – a
function for advanced users.
